13 September 1915 Sdt Joanny Jonnard

13 September 1915 Sdt Joanny Jonnard1879 Sdt 2e Cl Joanny Jonnard, 133 RI.

Born at Ste Bonnet des Quarts, Loire on 31 August 1891, Joanny was nearing the completion of his compulsory military service with the 133e RI when war broke out. Part of the 10th Company of this regiment, he saw some of the earliest engagements of the war and fought in the Vosges throughout his service. After being wounded at Ban-de-Sapt, Joannye died in a dressing station at Ste Die de Vosges on 13 September 1915 and he is now buried in the Necropole Nationale of ‘les Tiges' at Ste Die.
