13343 Pte Edward Hillyer, 6th Bn Northamptonshire Regt.
Born at All Saints, Northampton in 1893, Edward enlisted in Northampton in September 1914. He embarked for France in February 1917 and, during his service, was wounded three times (including being gassed). Wounded in September 1918, he died of his injuries in the Lakeside American Hospital at Rouen on 22 September 1918. Edward is now buried in St Sever Cemetery extension, Rouen.
