Pvt Elza M Salmon, HQ Co, 358th Infantry, US Army.
From Maysville, Kentucky, Elza was born on 21 August 1891. A waiter in civilian life, he enlisted into the Army in Indianapolis on 14 July 1918 and was trained, with the 336th Infantry, at Camp Sherman, Ohio. After transfer to the 358th, Elza was sent overseas on 9 September 9th 1918 and took part in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. He was killed in action near Cunel on 27 October 1918 and buried at Bautheville. His body was repatriated post-war.
