Capt Victor Hugo Nysewander, Co K, 359th Infantry Regt, US Army.
Born at Plainfield, Hendricks County, USA, on 22 July 1886, Victor graduated from Michigan University Law School in 1911. He enlisted into the US Army (OTC, Fort Benjamin Harrison) in November 1917, and gained his commission soon afterwards. In June 1918, Victor was posted overseas to the 359th Infantry of the 90th Division, with which he was killed in action, near Bantheville, on 4 November 1918. Originally buried in the American Cemetery at Romagne (Plot 1, Section 46, Grave 19), Victor's body was repatriated post-war.
