1585 Sdt 2e Cl Joseph Cornet, 22e BCA.
Born at Cherier, Loire on 8 November 1881, Joseph was living at Rue J J Rouseau at the time of his enlistment. His initial compulsory military service reached its completion in 1904, but Joseph was mobilised from the reserve on 12 August 1914 and he had seen active service in Alsace by the end of August 1914. His unit remained in Alsace, where he was killed in action at the Bois du Chena near Wisembach in the Vosges on 8 November 1914. Joseph is now buried in the Necropole Nationale at Bertrimoutier.
