Cpl Clifford Hartzell Alsip, Co E, 357th Infantry Regiment, US Army.
Born at Brazil, Indiana on 1 February 1895, Clifford was drafted into the army on 26 June 1918 and assigned to 158th Depot Brigade during training at Camp Sherman, Ohio. Transferred to the 357th Infantry, he travelled to France on 9 September 1918 and took part in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. Clifford was wounded during the last days of the war, and he died of his wounds at Base Hospital No 68. His body was repatriated post-war.
