8 December 1914 Capl Jean-Marie Vèrichon

8 December 1914 Capl Jean-Marie Vèrichon1452 Capl Jean-Marie Vèrichon, 321 RI.

Born at Ste Maurice-sur-Loire on 5 July 1887, Jean-Marie completed his compulsory military service in 1911 with 121 RI. A recalled reservist, he re-entered the Army on 4 August 1914 and, with the 321 RI (the reserve regiment of the 121st), fought at the Battle of the Aisne. Jean-Marie fell ill towards the end of 1914; he was evacuated from the frontline and died in the auxiliary hospital at Levallois-Perret on 8 December 1914. His place of burial is unrecorded but it is likely that he is buried in his home-town.
