A postman from Mazet Ste Foy, Loire, Emile was born on 20 February 1888. A recalled reservist upon the outbreak of war, he saw service in Alsace and the Battle of the Woevre before being killed in action during an assault at Ste Baussant (Moselle). He has no known grave.
