13317 Sgt William Hector Mair, 9/Duke of Wellingtons (W Riding) Regt.
Born in Skipton, Yorkshire in 1894, William was an employee of Messrs. Rose, Hewitt & Co at Broughton Rd, Skipton in civilian life. Enlisting at the beginning of the war, he was wounded in action on 19 December 1915 and he died of wounds in 24th General Hospital, Etaples on 22 December. William is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery.
