1239 Sdt Benoit Perrin, 100 RI.
From St Germain-Lespinasse, Benoit was born at nearby Marbly on 9 December 1879. Recalled to service in August 1914, he saw action during the retreat through Belgium and the Battle of the Marne before moving to trenches near Reims. After falling ill whilst in the reserve line (possibly of appendicitis), he died in hospital at Mourmelon le Grand on 6 January 1915. Benoit's grave location is unknown.
