Born at Feldkirch, Austria on 25 June 1875, Johann was a plasterer in civilian life. A reservist at the beginning of the war, he voluntarily enlisted for frontline service with the Tirolean Jaegers but was wounded fighting against the Russians soon after arrival in the front lines. Johann died of his wounds in a military hospital in Linz, Austria on 18 January 1915. Grave location unknown.
