Kaiserschütze Josef Anton Bildstein, KuK K Sch Rgt Nr 1.
Born at Dornbirn, Austria on 2 January 1874, Josef was a factory worker in civilian life. Called to service in August 1914, he spent the following year serving in several reserve units in Austria before being transferred to the K Sch Rgt Nr 1 for active frontline service in late 1916. Serving in Italy throughout his frontline experiences, Josef was killed in action near Rovereto, Italy on 26 January 1917 and he was buried locally.
