Pvt Doctor Daniel Davies, 315th Motor Truck Company, US Army Quartermaster Corps.
A farmer from Anderson, Indiana, Doctor was born on 11 November 1899. He enlisted into the US Army at Indianapolis on 5 September 1917 and was trained at Jefferson Barracks, Minnesota and Camp Merritt, New Jersey. After being sent overseas in January 1918, he fell ill on board his troop ship and died of pneumonia on 3 February 1918 in the American Red Cross Hospital at Mossley Hill, Liverpool. Originally buried in Kirkdale Cemetery, Liverpool, Doctor's body was repatriated post-war.
