254 Cpl Victor Pierre Brossette, 416 IR.
Born at Mornand, Loire on 1 April 1895, Victor was living at 18, rue de Clermont at Roanne at the time of his enlistment in December 1914. Originally enlisted into the 97e IR at Chamberey, Victor was transferred to the 416th following his training. He saw service on the Champagne front with his new regiment before moving to take a role in the Battle of Verdun. Fighting in the Douaumont, Vaux and St.Michel sectors, Victor was killed in action on 24 April 1916. He is now buried in the Nécropole nationale of Faubourg Pavé at Verdun.
