Charles Fair - Marjorie’s War

Marjorie’s War, a major new addition to Great War literature, will be published in the next few weeks. Charles tells the story of his grandmother Marjorie Secretan and her two wartime romances which were divided by tragedy. The Fair family preserved an archive of diaries, over 800 letters and 400 photographs telling of love and loss, and revealing a rare insight into female and Home Front experiences and war’s impact on Edwardian England. However, it is not just Marjorie’s story. She connects the lives of four families, who between them waved nine young men off to war, some never to return.
