The Lost Diggers: a treasure trove of Great War photos

Editor's note: despite the adverts at the front of the video, it is still worth watching.

A treasure trove of Great War photos lost in French barn for nearly 100 years

For nearly a century a unique piece of Australian history has lain hidden in an attic in a disused French barn.

Now Australia's Ch7 programme has tracked down the cache of 3000 glass plate photographic negatives — featuring Australia’s first soldiers on the Western Front.

Many of the poignant pictures are the last, or only, images of the men before they died.

If you think you know a soldier in these pictures CH 7 would love to hear from you, either via their website or email Ch 7 Sunday Night.
