Description
In his talk, Peter Simkins will examine the personalities, careers and performance of some fifteen British and Dominion divisional and brigade commanders who served on the Western Front in the Great War. Despite their undoubted achievements, most of the generals concerned remain largely unknown to the British public. Peter will show how few of the officers being discussed fit the accepted stereotype of the British general of the First World War.
