This talk examines the key areas of BEF artillery development paying particular attention to the critical elements of artillery movement and ammunition supply. These elements are often absent from most studies but are central to any understanding of the role and effectiveness of BEF artillery at Third Ypres and the ultimate failure of the campaign.
