Description

Heathcliffe will look at the development of the set piece attack by the BEF during the Third Battle of Ypres. He will give particular emphasis on tactical & operational improvements at brigade level. He will examine the lessons learned from the Somme offensive in 1916 and the process of post-battle analysis from the fighting in 1917 as both contributed to the success of the BEF during 1918.
