Each year The Western Front Association organises bespoke tours for our members to the battlefields; these are run by a specialist battlefield tour operator.
Here's what we have planned for 2016:
The Western Front Association Spring Tour - 'Poets on the Somme' 7th to 10th July
This trip visits the world and era of the First World War poets. The emphasis, in particular, is on the Battle of the Somme, which ran from 1 July to 18 November 1916.
For all the details of this tour, the itinerary, cost and booking details visit the dedicated Western Front Assocation Spring Tour page.
The Western Front Association Summer Tour - 'Medics at War' 12th to 15th August
This tour brings visitors an insight into the role played by men and women in the medical services in and around Ypres.
For all the details of this trip, the itinerary, cost and booking details visit the dedicated Western Front Association Summer Tour page.
The Western Front Association Autumn Tour - 'The Latter Days of the Somme' 14th to 17th October
This battlefield tour puts some overdue emphasis on the later battles of a campaign of battles that stretched over many months, rather than myth would have, occurring all on day one. This tour will have both a British and German emphasis.
