Summary of Role
To liaise with the media on Great War related matters wherever possible, ensuring the associations views are promoted, that the aims and profile of the association are publicised and to ensure adherence to the organisations constitutional and legal responsibilities.
Specific Tasks
1. As a member of the Board of Trustees, to take an active part in the development of the organisation in line with its objectives and constitution and to be responsible for press liaison issues.
2. To liaise with local, national and international media on Great War related issues in line with the association's aims and objectives.
3. To heighten awareness and provide a balanced view whenever possible through media outlets.
4. To be the point of contact for media enquiries acting as spokesperson on viewpoints and policy as required within guidelines issued by the Executive Committee.
5. To assist in the promotion of the Association via the media, maximising opportunities for publicising its aims, objectives and benefits wherever possible.
6. To support the Branch network with press liaison matters when invited, and to offer advice as and when required.
7. To provide regular reports on press liaison to Executive Committee meetings including the sharing of articles on Great War Issues with a view to bringing these to the attention of the wider membership.
8. To provide regular reports/articles for inclusion in The Bulletin/Stand To and Website as required.
